   errorikdotcom, when you say it took a really long time do you mean minutes or hours? I’m using the kit with a 3.5 in Seagate barracuda 160G drive and it has been trying for about 15 minutes already.

   Best of luck.

   I have another drive that I did the same thing to, and when I plugged it in it took a really long time to mount on the computer, but it eventually did, and I was able to copy most of the data off, but some directories were corrupted.

   So you might have full success, or partial success on your own.

   I had a western digital that did the same thing. When I found out how much data recovery cost. I reluctantly tossed it. I wish I had seen this vid before I did that. Then I had a maxtor external that just died on me I hope the same steps works.
